FC Barcelona drew 1-1 at Celta Vigo on Thursday night, leaving the Copa del Rey round of 16 encounter wide open going into the second leg at the Camp Nou in seven days’ time.

Speaking afterwards, manager Ernesto Valverde commented that "it was a fast-paced game from the start, with both sides creating deep pressure and taking risks. They were dangerous when they broke through on goal. We had our chances to win the game in the second half but didn’t take them.”

“We are happy with the job the team did out there, but there’s still a lot to be decided in the second leg.”

“Celta looked fresher in the first half. But we knew how to control the game and eventually we were the better side.”

“The second leg will be different to the league match. It’s a different competition. But we know what potential this team has. They’ll come and take risks and we’ll have to do the same. There’s no clear favourite.”

“I made some changes with respect to other games, but a lot of the players out there tonight have been playing in other games and doing a great job. I’m very happy with my squad. They’re all ready to help at any time.”

Arnaiz can help us a lot because he finds space and scores goals. He is developing into a great striker.”

“As it was Dembélé’s first game in four months I preferred to put him up front to help him get back into his rhythm.”
