Ousmane Dembélé has been officially presented as a Barça player. The French winger admitted “it’s an honour and a pleasure to play with Leo Messi,” referring to what awaits him, playing alongside the man he described as “the best player in the history of football.” For the new blaugrana, “it is a dream come true signing for FC Barcelona.”

The French international confessed that he has been a Barça fan since he was little and since then he has followed the Club due to the way they play and collect trophies. At just 20 years of age, Dembélé revealed that he comes to the team “to improve further as a player.”

According to the new arrival settling into the Club and the city will be easier due to the presence of international team mates Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne in the Barça dressing room.

The winger from Normandy in France said he is happy to play on the left or the right wing as he is happy with both feet. Dembéle also brushed off worries about the pressure of the transfer fee involved between FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, 105 million euros plus 40 million in add-ons, saying his only focus is on what happens on the field.

Robert Fernández: We are working towards bringing in one or two more players

The first team technical secretary accompanied Dembélé at his presentation. As well as welcoming the new French winger, Robert also cast his eye over the last week of the current transfer window. “We are working towards bringing in two or more players,” said the former Barça player without mentioning any names. He went on to dismiss the possibility of singing Seri, one of the names linked with the Club over the last few weeks. “Our priorities are other positions. We know what we went and the type of player we need,” said Robert before touching on possible departures which may “offer the best option for all.”
