Lifelong FC Barcelona fans all know what it feels like to win a title for the very first time. For many Culers, one of the most memorable of those came in 1992 when Barça's so-called Dream Team hoisted its first ever European Cup

Fast forward to Thursday, June 6, 2018 — the Washington Capitals, led by superstar center and avowed FC Barcelona fan Alex Ovechkin, beat the Las Vegas Golden Knights in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals, ending a 26-year title drought for the Washington D.C, metropolitan area and, vaulting both himself and the Caps into the annals of NHL history.

Ovechkin's heroic performance in the series earned him the Conn Smythe Trophy as Finals MVP, assuring he will forever be cast as a hero to the city and the franchise.

Ovechkin, of course is a huge Barça fan, and, earlier this season, he was given a special gift by his teammates on the occasion of his 1,000th NHL game. He has also met Barça players Gerard Piqué and Leo Messi, both encounters of which he posted on his official Instagram account.
