Leo Messi among three nominees for The Best FIFA Men's Player Award

The Argentine, along with Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann, is up for the prize that will be awarded on 9 January in Zurich

Leo Messi is one of the three finalists for The Best FIFA Men's Player Award along with Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Atlético Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.

The Argentine has now been among the top three of FIFA awards for the best player in the world for the tenth consecutive year. He won the award in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015 and came second on four occasions (2007, 2008, 2013 and 2014).

The vote to choose the winner of the award will be a combination of the votes of the captains and coaches of the teams from around the world. The other half will be calculated by a public vote involving fans through the website of the governing body of world football, and joins the votes of a group of more than 200 journalists.

On 4 November, the names of 23 players, in which Barça stars Neymar Jr, Luis Suárez and Andrés Iniesta were revealed, and on 22 the voting place. On 9 January 2017, the winner will be announced. Will Messi reign supreme again?
