Joachim Löw: Barça is a team that belongs amongst Europe's best

Germany's national coach watched FC Barcelona's first team squad train on Sunday and has lauded the club's model

The German national coach, Joachim Löw, watched FC Barcelona train on Sunday at the Tito Vilanova pitch along with his coaches Andreas Köpke and Miroslav Klose, who are both ex-Germany internationals. When the session finished, Löw said he was “happy to watch them train and to visit Marc-André Ter Stegen.” The manager described the German goalkeeper as “a great keeper who can play the ball out from the back” and stated he is “happy that he is at Barça and that he is playing in almost every game as this is important for his development.”

Löw also spoke in glowing terms about the club saying “Barça is a team that belongs amongst Europe's best as they are always up there in both the Champions League and the Spanish league.” Finally, the national coach praised the club's structure and academy: “Barça is a very professional club with an excellent philosophy and serves as a model for lots of other countries.”
