FC Barcelona's Luis Enrique: 'I trust my players' experience, they know there is a lot at stake'

The Asturian coach emphasized 'we are aware that nothing is decided yet. There are eight teams still in the Champions League, three in LaLiga and two in the Copa'

Following all the excitement in the aftermath of the historic Champions League comeback Barça managed at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night, the blaugranas are back in LaLiga action. The team need to refocus quickly after that magical night in order to open up a four-point lead at the top of the league table.

Luis Enrique thinks his side will be able to focus on the tasks ahead: “I trust my players’ experience to know how much is at stake. We are aware that there is still a lot to be decided, there are eight teams left in the Champions League, three in LaLiga and two in the Copa.”

Barça travel to Riazor for the 27th league fixture of the season against Deportivo. The Galician side have changed manager recently with Pepe Mel taking charge and making an immediate impact following two draws and a win in his opening three games. Luis Enrique is wary of Mel’s team: “They are dangerous opposition who have made changes and managed to secure five points from three games. I am worried about their team as a unit.”

The Asturian manager also spoke about Rakitic’s contract renewal: “it is great news as he is such an important member of the squad.” Luis Enrique ended his press conference by lauding Neymar Jr.'s recent performances, especially against PSG: “You can always evolve until the end of your career, it depends on each player’s mentality and it is evident that Neymar Jr. is evolving positively since he arrived at the Club and he is one of the best in the world.”
