Barça are back and showtime is back at the Camp Nou! The Barça fans got their chance to bid farewell to the double heroes for the summer on May 23 and two and a half months later they’re back, along with new arrivals Sergi Samper, Denis Suárez, Digne, Umtiti and André Gomes.
The players were introduced one by one to the fans before the Joan Gamper match against Sampdoria, with the four captains and five new faces the last to be presented, all by Carles Vich, son of the late and dearly missed stadium announcer Manel Vich
Afterwards, the first team coach and captain addressed the crowd. “I hope all the new players get the chance to enjoy being at a club as big as Barça and a Gamper”, said Luis Enrique. “Especially through the most difficult moments. I hope you enjoy the season.”
Andrés Iniesta, meanwhile, said that “it won’t be easy but we’ll fight for everything with your help. Visca el Barça and Visca Catalunya!”
