Luis Suárez made this gesture of support after scoring against Sporting. / FCB

Luis Suárez is man who cares and last weekend we witnessed a further example of that. The Uruguayan responded to a request from Candela, a child with phenylketonuria (PKU), who asked him at the recent presentation of the charity book ‘Relats Solidaris’ to show a shirt in support of sufferers of the condition after he scored a goal.

He did just that after scoring the second against Sporting on Saturday, and also gave the child a pair of signed boots. You can learn more about the illness in this video, with comments from Candela’s father following a wonderful gesture that further goes to show that Suárez is not only somebody very special on the pitch, but off it as well.
