Barça B – CD Ebro: Hard-fought draw at the Miniestadi (1-1)

The Barça reserves pick up a point against the league's last-place side on the day Moussa Wague made his debut with the team

FC Barcelona B played well against the last-place team in the second division B on Sunday afternoon at the Miniestadi, but Mujica’s 15th minute goal was cancelled out by Gerrit’s equalizer in the 55th, thus handing both sides a single point following a 1-1 draw.

Moussa Wague made his Barça B debut in the 75th minute.

CD Ebro came out aggressively in the early going, but after just a quarter hour, Mujica scored on a rebound following a shot by Carles Pérez. Pérez almost doubled Barça’s lead in the 27th, but Ebro keeper Salva de la Cruz intervened to preserve the one-goal game. Ebro followed that play with back-to-back chances on a corner kick in the 29th that failed to move the scoreboard.

The pace of the game picked up in the second half, and Barça goalkeeper Jokin Ezkieta made two splendid stops in the 50th to keep Barça ahead. He could not, however, stop Gerrit’s shot in the 55th from out in front.

Riqui Puig had the go ahead goal on his boot in the 79th, but his long-range shot was off the mark. The final minutes melted away in a midfield stalemate, keeping Barça sixth in the standings.
