Ricard Ares' Barça side brushed aside Centro Valenciano 5-0 in the semi-final of the World Club Cup to set up a final against Sporting CP who defeated OC Barcelós in their semi-final.

Two goals from Sergi Aragonés and stikes from Ferran Font, Ignacio Alabart and Sergi Llorca gave Barça the win in Argentina against the team from the host nation. The blaugranes took their time opening the scoring, not going ahead until the 20th minute through Sergi Araogonés. In the second half their dominance was complete, however, with another four goals to set up Sunday's final and the chance of more silverware after already claiming the Catalan League and the Super Cup this season.
