More points for Barça in the Clubs World Championship after a 4-3 win over host side Olimpia Patín Club in the group stage to make it two from two so far.

There was a nice touch ahead of the game when the Argentinian side arranged for Pablo Álvarez to receive an Olimpia jersey from his mother and sisters, as the blaugrana number seven was set to face the team where his roller hockey career began for the first time.

Barça dominated pretty much throughout the game, albeit a lack of finishing made the latter part of the game more difficult. Despite missing very good chances in the first half, Barça went in two up at the break, Ferran Font (1-0, min. 9) and Eloi Cervera (2-0, min. 25) with the goals.

Thrilling second half

Barça scored their third not long after the restart, Pablo Álvarez getting the goal to round off his special day (3-0, min. 28). It looked like the blaugranes were finally going to take off, but a combination of the crowd, missed chances and a goal by Federico Ortiz (3-1, min. 29) breathed life into the side from San Juan. A second by Federico Carrión (3-2, min. 35) sent the crowd wild and luckily Sergi Aragonès scored a fourth for the blaugranes (4-2, min. 36), as the home side scored what would have been the equalising goal on the next play (4-3, min. 36).

No further goals were scored and the blaugranes achieved their first target of classifying for the semifinal. Next up, a direct shootout against Sporting CP for first place in the table (12.00am CEST, 4 October).
