Barça are league champions for the third consecutive season after an impressive 9-5 win in La Coruña against Deportivo Liceo in game three of the league play off final. The victory in Galicia gives the blaugranes an unassailable 3-0 win in the best of five tie to ensure an 11th league title in the last 12 seasons.

Early exchanges

The game did not get off to the best of starts for the blaugranes when they found themselves 1-0 down after just three minutes,  'Tato' Ferruccio firing home for Liceo. Nevertheless, David Cáceres' team needed just three minutes to get back on level terms through Xavi Barroso.

Barroso was on the money again in the 10th minute to put Barça ahead 2-1. Aragonés made it it 3-1 to the blaugranes before Arnau Xaus pulled one back for the home side from a free hit. The goals kept coming as Alabart made it 4-2 still in the first half and Marc Grau's spectacular finish extended Barça's lead yet further.

Bruno Saavedra made it 5-3 to give Deportivo hope but another from Alabart left the score at 6-3 to Barça at half time.

Barça survive the mayhem

In the second half Arnau Xaus once again gave the home side hop when he made it 6-4 on the half hour mark. Alabart came to the rescue again to restore Barça's three goal advantage only for Dava Torres to make it 7-5 and keep Liceo in the game.

However, two late goals from Aragonés sealed the win for the blaugranes and rounded off a perfect run in the play offs with eight wins out of eight for David Cáceres' league champions.
