Deportivo Liceo 3-1 Barça: Unbeaten run ends

The Barça roller hockey team has lost 3-1 in the Parlem OK Liga to Deporitvo Liceo, bringing an end to a 55 game unbeaten run in the domestic competition. David Torres and César Carballeira (2) scored against Barça, for whom Ignacio Alabart grabbed the only goal.

An intense start to Deportivo Liceo v FC Barcelona at the Palacio de los Deportes de Riazor, particularly if you are of a blaugrana persuasion, as a blue card for Ignacio Alabart saw Carles Grau required to make a sensational save from a David Torres direct free hit. Both keepers were on top in the first half and the score remained 0-0 at the break.

The second half saw more attacking intent, Carles Grau saving first, before João Rodrigues tested Martí Serra, who saved a certain goal. After the referees ruled out a play to make it 0-1 in FC Barcelona's favour, David Torres broke the deadlock after 33 minutes (1-0). The goal woke up the blaugranes. who quickly equalised through a direct free hit from Ignacio Alabart after a 10th Liceo foul.

Home keeper Martí Serra foiled another direct free hit after a blue card to Pablo Cancela, and Barça just couldn't find the goal to take the lead. Carles Grau at the other end was also keeping the Galicians out, but César Carballeira ultimately made it 2-1 (min 45)/. There was still time to come back and despite pushing for an equaliser, a penalty by César Carballeira sealed the score at 3-1, bringing to an end a run of 55 games unbeaten in the Parlem OK Liga. Barça remain 15 points clear at the top of the table, however.
