Levante UD - Barça Women: Great win in Valencia (0-1)

The Blaugranes stay in second place in the table after a hard-fought victory

Barça Women beat Levante (0-1) thanks to a goal from Mariona in the 65th minute. The intensity and pace of the game set the tone for the first forty-five minutes, with Vicky Losada hitting the post as the visitors looked to seize an early initiative.

In spite of their good start, the hosts neutralised any attacking threat and Barça were grateful to Sandra Paños on a handful of occasions as Levante looked to counterattack. The score remained goalless at half-time.

Three well-earned points

After the break, Barça had several chances to get ahead, and Alexia Putellas came the closest when her shot cannoned back off of the crossbar. Shortly afterwards, a corner found its way to Martens whose shot was parried by Paraluta. The ball rebounded to Mariona who made no mistake.

In the final stretch of the match, the Blaugranes superior possession of the ball saw them control the game and get a win which takes them onto 46 points, six ahead of their opponents in the standings.
