Real Madrid 92-65 Barça Lassa: Beaten by effectiveness

The Blaugranes couldn't get a foot hold in a duel dominated from start to finish by Los Blancos

Barça Lassa were defeated in the Euroleague by Real Madrid (92-65). Svestislav Pesic’s team were unable to match the hosts’ effectiveness, which made the difference on the night. Heurtel, with 16 points, was Barça’s most prominent player.

The duel started with Real Madrid dominant on the scoreboard, but the Blaugranes kept chipping away at their lead. Though it was relatively close at the end of the first period (22-17), Real stepped on the accelerator and were ahead by 23 points at the break (53-30).

Effort without reward

Barça’s players continued to work hard but even 13 points without reply wasn’t enough to get them back in the match, albeit the lead had reduced slightly, to 19 points, by the end of the third period (69-50).

Real Madrid pushed home their advantage in the final period, and their 92-65 victory means that Barça Lassa have now recorded six wins and six defeats in the Euroleague.
