PSV Eindhoven 1-1 FC Barcelona: Group winners

Ansu scores after just nine minutes and although the games ends level in Holland, one point proves enough to finish top of Group B

The FC Barcelona U19 team have drawn 1-1 at PSV Eindhoven in a game that ensures they finish UEFA Youth League Group B at the top of table thanks also to Inter’s 4-2 defeat of Tottenham in the group’s other game.

After Anssumane Fati had put Barça a goal up, the lead could have been extended had Van Dorp not saved a penalty, and the home side managed to find an equaliser shortly before the end.

PSV Eindhoven were a noble opponent and caused the early danger, but the Catalans took the lead with their first meaningful attack, a great solo move from the Guinea-Bissau born striker after just nine minutes.

Both sides had chances in a lively second half, Nico coming close for Barça and Ansu very nearly claiming a second.

PSV would have pulled level had Rosanas not been able to clear what looked a dead-cert goal off the line, but nothing could be done when they did find the net with 16 minutes remaining.

Barça pushed hard in search of the three points, although ultimately just the one proved enough to secure to secure top spot.
