Arturo Vidal: 'We're focused on winning and topping the group'

Chilean midfielder speaks to the press ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven, and insists the team will settle for nothing less than three points

Arturo Vidal insists that the team’s intention at PSV on Wednesday night is “to win, put on a great show and go home feeling relaxed because top spot in the group is assured.”

The Chilean midfielder adds that "it is very important to go into the second round as one of the group winners because it means we get a better draw.”

But PSV Eindhoven, managed by former Barça man Marc Van Bommel, know that this could be their last chance to seal a ticket for the Europa League. And in any case, as Vidal points out “Barça is a team that everybody wants to beat.”

Hitting peak form

Vidal is delighted to be getting more and more playing time and feels he is only just starting to settle into his A-game.

And he also had words of thanks for the Barça fans for always responding so well whenever he takes to the field, insisting that his intention is to become one of the most important members of the squad.

“That’s precisely what I’m working so hard to do” he says.
