Barça B – UE Cornellà: A well-deserved win (2-1)

Goals from Carles Pérez and Abel Ruiz ease the blaugranes past their local rivals

Garcia Pimienta’s side won against UE Cornellà (2-1) thanks to goals from Carles Pérez (min.34) and Abel Ruiz (min.56), and the victory sent the blaugranes to fifth in the table.

The hosts dominated the ball from the first whistle, and went close through Collado and Abel Ruiz, however, rival keeper, Ramón, was in fine form and was able to repel a number of chances before he was finally beaten by Carles Pérez in the 34th minute. More opportunities came and went for Barça before half-time, but Cornellà held firm.

Competitive second half

A wonderful team move in the 56th minute ended with Abel Ruiz grabbing Barça's second after a pass from Carles Pérez. However, just 12 minutes later and against the run of play, Cornellà forced a penalty and Pere’s goal got the visitors right back in the game.

In the final minutes both sides had further chances, but a solid defensive effort from Barça saw them see out the match.
