Barça Lassa earned their fifth consecutive victory in the Euroleague after a tough 85-88 win against Zalgiris Kaunas. The Blaugrana were indebted to Kuric (15 points) and Pangos (10 points), the latter particularly decisive in overtime.
The visitors dominated the game in the early stages and were 18-23 up by the 10th minute. In the second quarter, a great triple from Kuric kept the difference in favour of Barça, but then Zalgiris reacted through Wolters and got back to within four points (28-32, min 18). In spite of some more home pressure, the visitors went into the break 34-39 ahead.
The Lithuanian’s were more intense after half-time (45-47, min 25), but Barça held firm and didn’t let Zalgiris get ahead at any time. Five straight points by Blazic in the final seconds of the third quarter widened the difference once more (50-60, min. 30).
Jasikevicius’ side came again but the work of Heurtel and Blazic recovered the initiative for Barça. Claver’s shot increased the gap to twelve points, forcing the hosts into a time out (59-72, min 35).
In overtime Kevin Pangos scored five consecutive points, meaning that even a late flurry from the Lithuanian team was in vain.
