FC Barcelona Lassa v Chonburi: Goal fest and third place in Intercontinental Cup (12-2)

Barça Lassa complete their participation in the International Cup with a comfortable victory against Chonburi from Thailand (12-2). In the third place play off, Andreu Plaza’s men made light work of the opposition in a convincing win which secured the bronze medal.
Barça Lassa’s superiority was evident and goals from Ferrao (3), the game’s MVP, Adolfo (2), Adri Ortego, Joselito, Boyis, Lozano, Esquerdinha, Arthur, and an own goal completed the win.
The goal fest didn’t look like being the case early on after the Thai team took the lead in the first minute. However, Andreu Plaza’s side grew into the game when Ferrao equalised. Soon after, the blaugranes went ahead thanks to Ferra. From then on, they didn’t look back.
Barça Lassa came to life and the goals flowed from Adolfo, Adri Ortego and Joselito, all in under a minute. At 5-1 the game was under control and they then went on to add another seven goals. They went into the break 6-1 up.
In the second half, the dynamic stayed the same. After only 30 seconds of play, Sergio Lozano opened Barça’s account for the half. Ferrao completed his spectacular performance with a hat-trick. Adolfo, Esquerdinha and Arthur, along with an own goal completed the 12-2 final score.
Barça Lassa end the Intercontinental Cup with an impressive performance and third place in the competition. The next game is at the Palau Blaugrana as the league kicks off on 15 September.
