Barça return to Balaídos to face Celta on Saturday, scene of half-time celebrations as Frank Rijkaard's team clinched the league

Barça travel to play Celta at Balaídos on Sunday. The stadium was the scene of a treasured memory for Barça fans. Ten years ago, FC Barcelona clinched their 18th league title in the 2005/06 season. The players celebrated at half-time after finding out that Valencia, the team chasing the Catalans, had lost to Mallorca.

The blaugranes were drawing the game at that point but none of this mattered as Valencia's loss gave Frank Rijkaard's team their second league title in a row. The video of Barça's half-time celebrations brings back great memories. Barça started the second 45 minutes as Champions and their positive energy helped them win this game thanks to a Samuel Eto'o goal.

The club ended the campaign on 82 points, twelve more than second-placed Real Madrid and thirteen more than third-placed Valencia. The 2005/06 season was hard to fault as the Catalans also won their second Champions League title at Saint-Denis against Arsenal with an epic comeback victory. This season marked the beginning of the club's most successful period in their history, which continues to the present day.
