The past week has seen plenty of positive ongoings, both on and off the field: Mascherano and Neymar Jr put pen-to-paper on new deals while the team defeated Manchester City at home followed by a win at Mestalla over Valencia.
The midweek clash against the English side saw the return of Pep Guardiola, who spoke to the press about his time with Barça and his good relationships with the players and staff at the club. But it would be his friend Luis Enrique who would end the day happiest, with Barça earning a 4-0 win on the night.
Luis Suárez was honoured for his fine goalscoring campaign with the European Golden Shoe Award on Thursday, and thanked the club in his speech: “I am very grateful to Barça to be able to live this dream”.
There was more good news on Friday with the signing of Neymar’s contract through to 2021, a day before visiting Valencia where Barça rallied back from 2-1 down to take the game in injury time thanks to a Leo Messi penalty.
