Luis Enrique: These games are difficult to close out

The manager speaks after the Copa del Rey Round of 32 first leg draw at Hércules

FC Barcelona were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw away to Hércules on Wednesday night in the first leg of the Copa del Rey Round of 32 tie.

Luis Enrique gave his thoughts on the game soon after the final whistle,  saying that “these games are difficult to see out” due to the opposition’s defensive setup.

"In the first half we were not very well positioned, but in the second we were much better, we received (the ball) in areas more difficult to defend for the opponent and we had opportunities to win the match."

The boss gave debuts to five youngsters and one of them, Carles Aleñá, scored the equalising goal with a beauty of a strike.

“I am very happy with his goal, even though his positioning needs to improve,” said Lucho. “We are expecting a lot from him and we will do all we can to help with his progress”.

“It’s clear that this was not the result we wanted, the tie is not over and we will have to make up for it in the return leg.”

Rafinha

“When a team sits back, shooting from distance is a good tactic. We are happy for Aleñá's goal.”

“We have to keep pushing and the goals will arrive. As always, we will push to win (in the second leg).”

Paco Alcácer

"The opponets countered our game with a good defence of five players and covered the areas well."

“Aleñá's goal is important because it is away from home, but we should have won the game.”

“If the manager is saying good things about you, it means that you are doing your job well.”
