Sandro: Returning to Camp Nou means coming back home

The young striker moved to Málaga over the summer after progressing through the blaugrana academy and is their top scorer so far this campaign

Saturday’s game against Málaga at the Camp Nou will see the return of a very familiar face. Sandro Ramírez was at the club from the 2009/10 season before moving onto the Andalusians this past summer.

The young striker has adapted to his new team quickly, scoring five goals since the start of the campaign making him the club’s top scorer. Here’s what he said about his return to his former stamping ground:

“I am coming back home, I am coming back to the Camp Nou. It will be a special game because I will see former colleagues who gave me everything when I got into the first team. I am very happy and I'm looking forward to it.”

He acknowledges it will be “a tough game” but insists “we will go all out and fight for the match”.

“We have to score because Barça always score at home; if we go ahead in the scoring we could get a positive result.”

"I'm happy personally, I hope to continue in the same line, but for this I just keep working."

"I had to adapt, it is a different style of play. New team, new team, but I'm adapting well, the team is more important and we must continue in the same way."

"We are in a good moment mentally to come away with three points from a difficult ground"
