FC Barcelona Lassa futsal team stamped their authority on the league thanks to their victory at the Jorge Garbajosa de Torrejón de Ardoz Pavillion in Madrid in a fantastic game of futsal. They beat Movistar Inter who started the game as league leaders but relinquished their hold on top spot to Andreu Plaza's team following an Aicardo double and goals from Ferrao and Adolfo.
Barça came through even though they were 2-1 down at the break following a Rafael double. The away side didn't give up and they turned the game around in the second half with a display of character and skill.
Both teams tore into each other from the opening whistle. FC Barcelona and Movistar Inter showed the other team respect by playing to the best of their abilities and this led to a fantastic and engrossing match.
In the opening seconds Aicardo took advantage of a corner to score the first goal of the day for Barça with a long range shot. However, barely two minutes later Rafael punished a loss of possession from the Catalan team to level for the home side from a Ricardinho assist.
With first place up for grabs, Barça tested Herrero with some long range efforts from Dyego and Romulo. Inter's keeper saved excellently from a dangerous Adolfo shot and from a Ferrao effort destined for the top corner.
Inter made the most of occasional Barça mistakes and carried a goalscoring threat of their own. In one of these opportunities just before the break Ricardinho recovered the ball and passed to Rafael who buried his effort and gave the home side a 2-1 lead going into the break.
The team from Madrid conceded shortly after the restart from a great Tolrà move which ended in Aicardo scoring the equaliser from an Adolfo assist. Both teams enjoyed plenty of chances with Inter going close through Daniel Japonés' effort which was saved 'in extremis' by Romulo and another Rafael chance. Meanwhile, Barça's Ferrao and Joselito saw shots saved by Herrero.
The blaugranas' persistence was rewarded as they scored two goals which ensured Andreu Plaza's team returned to Barcelona with all three points. The first goal was scored by the Brazilian Ferrao as he recovered the ball and then supplied the finish to make it 2-3 in the 35th minute.
This goal meant Inter had to push for an equaliser leaving them exposed at the back. Barça took advantage of this to punish them with their fourth goal of the night giving them victory at this ground following a three and a half year wait. Adolfo was the scorer with his thirteenth of the season in the league. In the end, the Catalans secured victory in spite of a late goal Ricardinho goal and they are now top of the league.
