Ronaldinho: FC Barcelona will help Chinese football develop

The new Club ambassador was at the Hong Kong offices and spoke about the presence of FC Barcelona in Asia

Ronaldinho is taking part in the institutional visit to China in his new role of FC Barcelona ambassador and prior to his arrival in Hainan, he made a short stop in Hong Kong to visit to the FC Barcelona’s offices on Queen’s Road Central, right in the heart of the island’s financial district. The offices were the first to be opened by the Club back in 2013 to begin its strategy of commercial globalization that continued with the opening of the office in New York last September. Ronaldinho himself was the guest of honour at the event and his ‘goal’ signified the start of Barça’s permanent presence in the USA.

During his stop in Hong Kong, the Brazilian spoke about Barça’s presence in on the continent: “I have been coming to Asia and China for years and every year I see it developing a lot. I am sure that with the arrival of these professionals from Barça, it will do so even more.” Ronaldinho added: “We all know about the great work Barça do with kids. Top quality professionals are coming here to work here and I think they will help a lot. Chinese football will learn a lot from them.”

Finally, the former Barça player spoke about the current side’s situation: “Barça still have the best players in the world. They have had a bit of bad luck in the competitions. I think soon we will be back to normal.”
