Nine blaugranas in Spain's narrow defeat against Brazil (1-2)

A total of nine blaugranas were involved in the friendly between the Spanish national team and Brazil played at the Fernando Torres de Fuenlabrada Stadium. Sandra Paños, Marta Torrejón, Leila Ouahabi, Vicky Losada and Olga Garcia started for Spain while Andressa Alves was in Brazil’s starting XI. Moreover, in the second half Alexia Putellas, Bárbara Latorre and Mariona Caldentey came on as substitutes.
The Brazilians won 2-1 thanks to a Darlene Reguera’s double in response to the Spain’s opener scored by the blaugrana Vicky Losada after 20 minutes. Jorge Vilda’s team dominated the first half and were much the better side but the opposition improved after the break and were able to complete the comeback.
Barça’s Marta Torrejón captained Spain and she became the player who has made the most appearances for the national side with 72. Her record with Spain is of 43 victories, 15 draws and 14 defeats in which he has contributed nine goals.
The match served as a preparation game for the Spanish side ahead of the European Championships this summer in Holland in which Spain will play their first game, against Portugal, on the 19 July.
