Barça boost ECA presence

Josep Maria Bartomeu has been chosen as part of the executive committee for for the European Clubs’ Association

Josep Maria Bartomeu took part in the ECA (European Clubs’ Association) meeting in Geneva on Tuesday. Key at the get-together was the formation of the new executive committee, and the Barça president remains a part of it, with Andrea Agnelli of Juventus the president.

The ECA thus has a new two-year mandate until 2019. Bartomeu will be part of the executive committee alongside Nasser Al-Khelaifi of PSG, Ed Woodward of Manchester United, and Peter Lawwell of Celtic.

The other executive committee members are Agnelli, Pedro López Jiménez , Edwin van der Sar, Dariusz Miodusk, Aki Riihilahti, Ivan Gazidis, Jean-Michel Aulas, Michael Gerlinger , Domingos Oliveira, and Anders Horsholt.

Agnelli has been named as the new president, in the first act of the new executive committee. He replaces Karl Heinz Rummenigge in this capacity. Raul Sanllehí has been named director of the new UEFA Club Competitions body.
