The company has a total of 61 parks distributed in 14 countries such as the USA, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Dubai, Argentina and Vietnam. Their most important acquisitions are: Miami Seaquiarium (2014), Noah’s Ark (2012), Slagharen (2012), Movie Park Germany (2010), Tusenfryd Norway (2008) and Sea Life Park Hawaii (2008). In high season they have a workforce of some 18,000 employees around the world. Since 29 April 2016 the company has floated on the stock markets of Madird, Barcelona, Valencia and Bilbao.
Parque Reunidos will open parks in important commercial centres or in areas in the centre of cities with important footfall. It will be a space dedicated exclusively to FC Barcelona where visitors of all ages will be able to enjoy an immersive experience in this new entertainment concept, based on history, values, players and the Club’s unique history with a mixture of interactive elements, new technology education and entertainment.
With this new strategic partnership, FC Barcelona continue to position themselves ahead of their competitors with the objective of maintaining the brand’s growth in key areas for expansion and at the same time suppose a new source of income for the Club.
The parks will be between 3,000 and 10,00 square metres in size and Parques Reunidos will assume 100% of the investment costs for the design of the parks as well as their construction with FC Barcelona not liable for any investment in these areas. Nevertheless, the Club will have control over all the content used in the park as well as the application and use of the Barça brand.
This agreement establishes the opening of a minimum of five parks during the first five years of the agreement. The project will be carried out around the world and the period of the contract will be five years with an option for another five.
