FC Barcelona Lassa 111-81 San Pablo Burgos: Offensive festival at the Palau

The blaugrana are 3-0 in Liga Endesa play, and are in fine form ahead of Friday's Euroleague debut against Panathinaikos

Sunday produced a huge win for Barça Lassa at home to San Pablo Burgos (111-81) to go 3-0 in the Liga Endesa. The team combined brilliantly and dominated the play from start to finish, with Pierre Oriola making his Barça debut and Marc Garcia getting his first league experience dressed in blaugrana.

It was full steam ahead from the outset, the Catalans racing to 20-11 before some sloppy losses allowed their visitors back into contention. But the home reaction was immediate and a slam-dunk from Sanders raised the difference to double figures at 29-18.

With tight defence and superiority on offensive rebounds, Barça continued to control the proceedings and were comfortably ahead at 56-41 by the interval.

Back-to-back threes from Pau Ribas stretched things to 71-49, but threes of their own from Burgos managed to keep at least some element of uncertainty , but the third period commenced with only one side with a serious eye on victory (84-67).

It was not Burgos’ day. Six straight attacks all resulted in nothing, and Barça Lassa then launched the killer blows to make it 96-70, a great moment for Sito Alonso to give Marc Garcia a run-out.

There was little more story to the game, and attention now switches to Friday’s Euroleague opener against Panathinaikos at the Palau Blaugrana (9.00pm CET).
