Barça train for the final time this week

See who was out on the practice field today while a slew of there teammates were still away on international duty

Barça manager Ernesto Valverde held one final training session Thursday during this latest International hiatus before giving his players a long weekend and, with it, a little bit of rest and relaxation that they’ll need for what is expected to be a tough stretch after the break.

While 14 players are away with their respective national teams for international friendlies—Ivan Rakitic and Croatia being an exception as they were set to face Greece in the competitive World Cup playoff round—there were still some big names around at the Ciutat Esportiva to train with the team on Thursday morning.

Denis Suárez, Gerard Deulofeu, Paco Alcácer, and Aleix Vidal were out on Field Three Thursday, while Luis Suárez continued to work out off to the side as on previous days.

Valverde, thus, has granted the players some much-deserved time off on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, before they come back to the Ciutat Esportiva on Monday, when the team is scheduled to train at 6.00pm CET.

Barça’s next game is set for the following Saturday, when they travel to Madrid to face Leganés. Then, just three days after that, Barça go back on the road for a Champions League group stage match—and a chance to book a ticket to the last 16—at Juventus, in Turin, Italy. Barça will then wrap up the week with a third away game in a nine-day span, when they play at Valencia, who are currently second in La Liga.
