FC Barcelona Lassa were defeated at the Palau Blaugrana by the current European champion. Fenerbahce’s victory, by a 68-83 margin, leaves Sito Alonso’s side with four wins and seven defeats after 11 Euroleague Matchdays. The success of Sloukas, Wanamaker, Nunnally and Vesely at the basket ultimately ensured that the good numbers from Hanga (15 points), Pressey (12 points) and Seraphin (12 points and 9 rebounds) failed to earn Barça Lassa a reward.
The hosts started well against the best defence with 28 points in the first period, including five out of five three-pointers. However, Fenerbahce came storming back and by the sixteenth minute they led 31-34. As the game continued, the lead increased, with their defence holding firm (51-64, min. 30).
With nothing to lose, Barça Lassa worked hard to wipe out the deficit, and a basket from Hanga gave the blagurana hope of a comeback (61-68 min 35). With the Palau right behind them, Sito Alonso’s men gave everything, but the Turks pulled away again in the final moments of the match to make the final score 68-83.
