Barça Innovation Hub and the UAB organise a master's course in communication and sponsorship

President Josep Maria Bartomeu and the rector Margartia Arboix sign an agreement to creat the Sport Communication Lab which will oversee this postgrad course for sporting organisations

FC Barcelona and the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB) have signed a collaborative agreement for the creation of a Master’s Course in Communication and Sponsorship Administration in Sporting Organisations that will begin in September 2018 and forms part of the Sport Communication Lab, an initiative from both organisations designed to promote and organise events related to the field of communication and sport. The Club is represented in this educational project by the Barça Innovation Hub, its platform for research, development, training and innovation. The signature for the agreement took place at FC Barcelona with president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the rector of the UAB, Margarita Arboix both present.  

The Sport Communication Lab will have as its principal activity, the organisation of the Master’s Course which will be administered by the ‘Centro de Estudios Olímpicos y del Deporte CEO-UAB’ and Barça Innovation Hub. The master’s course intends to give professionals a holistic vision of communication in sport, which will allow students to get to know the different values in communication from differing sporting entities.

“We are really happy with this agreement with the UAB that allows us to create the Sport Communication Lab and the Master’s course in Communication and Sponsorship Administration in Sporting Organisations. FC Barcelona has the need and the vocation to share the knowledge and experience that it has acquired over the decades and with the Barça Innovation Hub we have the platform to do it.”

RECTOR OF THE UAB, MARGARITA ARBOIX:

“The UAB have been working for almost 30 years in research and training in communication and sport via the ‘Centro de Estudios Olímpicos y del Deporte’. The agreement with FC Barcelona allowed us to go further in transferring this knowledge to the public.”
