FC Barcelona Hoquei took a major step forward in Europe with a 4-1 win away to Saint-Omer, mathematically securing their place in the Final 8 of the WSE Champions League with three group games still to play.

Early setback

The hosts struck first through Leo Savreux in the 8th minute (1–0), but Barça responded quickly and confidently. Eloi Cervera equalised on 14 minutes (1–1), and the blaugrana gradually took control, creating several clear chances.

Dream European debut

One of the standout stories of the night was the European debut of 19-year-old Àlex Ortigosa. Already introduced to the first team in the OK Liga 24/25 season, the youngster delivered a memorable performance. He put Barça ahead in the 16th minute (1–2) and then completed his brace early in the second half (1–3).

Sealing qualification

Barça wrapped things up late on. After several opportunities (including a shot against the post from Sergi Llorca), Llorca himself added the fourth goal in the 49th minute (1–4).

The victory confirms Barça’s place in the Final 8, scheduled for 6–10 May, although their final position in the group stage is still to be decided before they begin their bid for the continental title.
