Located in north Austin, the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex was the venue for all those taking part in matches played on six 11-a-side pitches, four 9-a-side pitches and four 5-a-side pitches. Away from the action, there was a fun and festive blaugrana atmosphere, with the idea behind the gathering to provide an experience for the players to enjoy a competitive event in the Barça style of play.
Over 100 teams involved
The second Barça Academy Austin Cup was already a success when over 100 teams from different parts of Texas arrived in Austin to play the tournament, making the most of the President's Day weekend. What's more and for the second year in a row, teams from the Barça Academy Chicago didn't want to miss out on the chance to compete, making the trip to Texas to play in the tournament, which has grown in terms of the numbers of teams and players since last year. The event helped to further forge ties between both academies and clubs in the state of Texas, helping to consolidate an opportunity for sporting collaboration.
