Last week, the Barça Academy Nara Cup 2026 U8 took place at the Takayama (Ikoma) facilities in Japan. The tournament based on the values implemented at academy was mainly focused on enjoyment, creativity and learning through the ball beyond the result itself. Throughout the tournament, maximum playing time was prioritised, along with competitive diversity between teams, culminating in three phases: gold, silver and bronze. This format allowed for a more balanced conclusion adapted to the level of each group.

The experience was outstanding thanks to the participation of players from Nara and the surrounding areas, with over 100 players taking part and a total of 14 teams. In addition, many families accompanied the participants throughout the day, despite the event starting with somewhat adverse weather conditions, with cold and rain during the early hours of competition.

Throughout the tournament there was an atmosphere of great camaraderie, respect and mutual support among the players, without losing the spirit of healthy competition that encouraged the children to push themselves and give their best on the pitch.
