After Monday's 2-1 defeat in Girona, Barça coach Hansi Flick was self-critical and acknowledged that the team is not going through its best moment. “I don’t want to talk about the referee. Everyone saw the match,” he said firmly.
Reflecting on the performance, he pointed in particular to the second half: “We defended very poorly, especially in transition. We weren’t well positioned and struggled to withstand Girona’s attacks ... We needed more control and fewer mistakes. In the first half we had more chances, but we have to show the hunger to win these matches.”
“After losing to Atlético it was important to win today, and everyone is disappointed.”
“We’re not doing well. We’re not in a good moment. Now we have a week to work, and that’s what we’ll do. We’ll fight to come back in the coming weeks with a different mentality and a higher level. Train and play.”
“We didn’t play well. I don’t want excuses. We have to play better.”
