On 17 February, the Year of the Horse begins for many people in Asia and FC Barcelona would like to send their best wishes to all fans in the Asia-Pacific region celebrating the event. The celebrations don't stop there though, as there will be different online actions through Club channels and live activities at the Spotify Camp Nou, under the “Forging the future” slogan.

The Club has been celebrating the event since 2012 and it presents a lovely opportunity to reach out to fans in Asia and help fans around the world feel closer to the Club. The new lunar year sees the turn of the horse, a symbol of strength, vitality and perseverance, values that align perfectly with what makes FC Barcelona who they are.

Celebrations on Club online channels

With the aiming of reaching out to as many FC Barcelona fans as possible, the coming weeks will see a campaign celebrating the event through original and fun content on the Club online channels. These include a video piece featuring Lewandowski, Pedri, Cubarsí, Szczesny and Gerard Martín, along with women's team players Alexia, Kika, Pajor, Aleixandri and Serrajordi, the mascot CAT and a collaboration from children from the Penya Blaugrana Dracs Units.

Furthermore, there will be a range of digital activities to raise awareness in networks such as WeChat, as well as through Club sponsors in the Asia-Pacific region.

Special activities for Barça v Levante

The Club is also set to organise a special day to honour Chinese culture for the Barça v Levante match on 22 February at the Spotify Camp Nou. As is the norm, the activities will be headed up by the Penya Blaugrana Dracs Units, which was founded by the Chinese community in Catalonia. The event will include a tasting of Chinese gastronomic delicacies, a robot show, traditional dragon and lion dances outside the stadium and a DJ spinning the tunes at half-time. Of course, mascot CAT will be front and centre to liven up the party.

Barça in the Asia-Pacific region

With over 600 million followers on social media worldwide, FC Barcelona has built a solid fan base in the Asia-Pacific region, with 59 million followers in the region, 15.9 million of whom come from Chinese platforms (including WeChat, Weibo, Douyin, Toutiao, Xiaohongshu and bilibili). When it comes to the social side, the Club has eight official penyes (supporters' clubs) in a number of cities across Asia, including Dhaka, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Kathmandu, Kozhikode, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo.
