The striker Claudia Pina is set to stay at FC Barcelona until 2029 after signing a new contract with the blaugranes on Monday. The player from the town of Montcada i Reixac from just outside Barcelona put pen to paper in the presence of president Joan Laporta, the director responsible for Women's Football, Xavier Puig and the sporting director of Barça Women, Marc Vivés.

Top scorer in the Champions League

A new deal for Pina is great news as she is one the players who has developed most over the last season or so. After various campaigns on the fringes of the side, last season the striker became a key member of the team for new coach Pere Romeu, scoring no less than 24 goals. Ten of those strikes came in the Champions League where Pina ended the season as top scorer in the competition.

After a season on loan at Sevilla in 2020/21, the striker has progressed season after season, and now she is considered one of the top strikers in European football. With a long career still ahead of her, Claudia Pina has already made 191 appearances, scoring 86 goals and providing 49 assists.

Honours that can still grow

At just 24 years of age, Pina has already won 23 trophies, including three Champions Leagues, six league titles and five Copas de la Reina. Let's hope she can add plenty more between now and 2029.
