The Netherlands and Frenkie de Jong are through to the 2026 World Cup after a 4-0 win over Lithuania clinched top spot in Group G in European qualification. First place means they pass automatically to the final stages of the tournament to be played next summer in the US, Mexico and Canada.

Top form in qualification

The Dutch national team, coached by former Barça player and coach Ronald Koeman, pipped Robert Lewandowski's Poland to top spot in Group G thanks to a record of six wins and two draws in their eight qualifying fixtures.

Fifth blaugrana

Frenkie de Jong becomes the fifth blaugrana to have helped his side to qualification for the 2026 World Cup alongside Jules Kounde (France), Marcus Rashford (England), Ronald Araujo (Uruguay) and Raphinha (Brazil).
