The countdown is on for the 2025/26 league season with Hansi Flick's team now just a month away from their league opener against Mallorca. Before that the blaugranes have preseason games against Vissel Kobe on 27 July in Japan and against Seoul on 31 July and Daegu FC on 4 August in South Korea. The debut in La Liga comes away form home in the Son Moix stadium on 16 August at 7.30pm CEST.
Previous league debuts
Barça have won seven of their last 10 league openers, drawing twice and losing just once. Last season in Hansi Flick's first official game in charge the blaugranes came from behind to win 2-1 away at Valencia.
Over the last decade Barça have had some impressive results in the first league game of the campaign such as the 4-2 home win over Real Sociedad in 21/22, the 4-0 victory over Villarreal in 20/21 and the 6-2 defeat of Betis in 2016/17.
First opponents
RCD Mallorca, bolstered by the signing of former blaugrana Pablo Torre, will give Barça a stiff test on the opening weekend of La Liga. Jagoba Arrasate's team finished 10th in the league last season and took part in the Spanish Super Cup which was eventually won by Hansi Flick's team.
In the games between the two sides in 2024/25, Barça won 5-1 in Palma last December thanks to a brace from Raphinha. In April at Montjuïc Dani Olmo's goal gave Barça victory over Mallorca.
With Muriqi and Larin up front, who both scored seven goals in La Liga last season, it will be a stern test for the blaugranes as La Liga 2025/26 gets under way.
