FC Barcelona launches on the Collectibol platform its first album of digital cards

FC Barcelona is launching its first album of digital cards to move into the digital collectibles sector via the Collectibol platform. Barça Vision is behind the project which consists of a collection of 180 official digital images from FC Barcelona’s past and present, including players from the men’s and women’s first team, past legends, Spotify Camp Nou, the club badge over the years and even mascot CAT amongst many others.
For the creation of this first album of digital vignettes, the Club has collaborated with Collectibol, a digital application for collectors, available on the App Store and Google Play, developed by the Catalan tech company Algoritcom. The launch of the project is another demonstration of the Club’s strategic commitment to the digitalisation of its assets to create unforgettable cultural moments from the past and the present – with the aim of reaching new audiences and followers from the xennial, milennial and generation Z amongst others.
A blaugrana digital album
The launch collection includes more than 180 images that have been developed by FC Barcelona with the help of Collectibol, to give a 100% Barça experience. Each of the vignettes contains unique elements which make it one of a kind, giving it the emotional impact of a collectible item. Furthermore, as in physical collectibles, a system of digital ageing has been incorporated, allowing the cards to display visual wear and tear, elements that bring realism, personality and symbolic value. A further enhancement from Collectibol is the ability of each user to control their collection via real time statistics, allowing for the easy exchange of cards with other fans.
A platform that brings the clubs to the forefront
FC Barcelona has chosen the Collectibol option to launch its first digital collection on the basis that the platform designed by Algoritcom allows the teams to participate actively in the design of the digital album, define chapters, the visual content and the elements that best represent its history. This direct involvement not only strengthens the emotional connection with the fans but also allows FC Barcelona to offer 100% Barça rewards to those users who complete their album.
