Rayo Majadahonda 1-2 Barça Atlètic: Four wins in a row

Goals from Percan and Iker Goujon certify the reserves' great run of form

Barça Atlètic are on a roll. Rayo Majadahonda presented a tough challenge in this one, and a game that was goalless at half time ended with the Catalans edging a very interesting encounter.

The sides were extremely well-matched in both attack and defence, and by the interval only Alberto Fernández had come truly close to scoring for Barça, while two fabulous pieces of defending from Mikayil Faye kept the home side from converting the equally few chances that fell their way.

The second half was a very different affair. The quality of the football was just as good, but this time rather than cancel each other out, the chances were falling thick and fast at both ends. Diego Percan topped a wonderful team move by latching onto a Rayo rebound to give the blaugrana the lead.

But just past the hour mark, Rayo pulled level, with two defenders delivering the goods when Jorge Casado intercepted a Kike Hermoso header to nudge the ball past keeper Marc Vidal.

Mamadou Fall finally got to make his debut for the final minutes, and his presence gave Barça that little bit of extra depth that they needed. And it quickly produced dividends, with Iker Goujón converting a Trilli’ cross and celebrating his first goal for the team with tears in his eyes.

The outcome of today's fine effort is a place as joint leaders of Primera Federación Group 1.
