First away win for the blaugranes after an excellent 77-68 win over Olympiacos in Greece. Roger Grimau's team put in an excellent first and final quarters to claim victory after the home side had forged ahead early in the second half. 17 points from Laprovittola and 16 from Abrines were key in the second win of the season in Europe for the Barça basketball side
Getting better and better
Barça began the contest focused in defence as they tried to deny Olympiacos opportunities for their excellent shooters. Da Silva and Kalinic put in excellent performances in the first quarter and two three pointers from the latter and some good offensive rebounding allowed the blaugranes a 23-16 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Grimau's team surged into a 12 point lead in the second quarter with Abrines helping them to a 32-20 lead. Nevertheless, the visitors lost a little concentration towards the end of the half and Olympiacos dragged themselves back into the contest at 40-34.
Head to head
In the second half Barça continued to allow the Greeks back into the game and Bartzokas' team levelled things up at 42-42. However, slowly the blaugranes regained their composure and a three pointer from Laprovittola gave them the lead once again at 56-54.
In the final quarter the Greeks surged back in front at 64-59 but a wonderful spell of 14 unanswered points from Barça saw the balance swing back to the visitors with Laprovittola and Abrines architects of the comeback. In the end the blaugranes closed out the game at 77-68 for a famous victory in Europe.
