Alexia and Gavi have their Tuttosport golden trophies

The Best Female Player and the Golden Boy 2022 have received their awards, again certifying they are at the top of their game

Alexia and Gavi have touched gold again. 21 October saw the Barça players selected as Best Female Player and Golden Boy 2022 respectively, and they have now received their trophies from Tuttosport

7 November saw the Italian newspaper organise a ceremony featuring a galaxy of stars at the Officine Grandi Riparazioni in Turin. A noteworthy event, but the two Barça representatives were unfortunately unable to attend in person, so the FC Barcelona Women captain and the young number 30 raised their trophies at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

The Catalan attacking midfielder had a broad smile on her face as she gave her winning speech. She believes this recognition will give her energy, stating "Receiving the award now is important because I am recovering from injury". The captain also expressed that her "main objective is to get back to playing football". "There is a lot of room for growth in women's football. We are only at the beginning. It is important for media outlets such as Tuttosport to recognise female players with awards so they can continue to develop", she added.

The Andalusian midfielder also highlighted how happy he was to receive his award. "I am very happy to lift this award, which my friend and teammate Pedri has also won, as well as the greatest player of all time, Messi", explained the third Barça player to win the  Golden Boy award.

So, both Barça players can add the award to their trophy cabinets, which they have been filling up this year. For example, Alexia can place this Tuttosport golden ball alongside the Ballon D'Or and the UEFA Female Player of the year award. Gavi could also place his golden ball alongside the Kopa Trophy he won on 17 October. Undoubtedly, two footballers who keep on shining bright.
