Women's Gamper back at the Johan Cruyff

Montpellier are the guests for the presentation of the team before a sold-out stadium

The Barça women's team are holding the Joan Gamper Trophy for the second time ever on Tuesday at 8.00pm CEST (Barça TV, Barça TV+ and Esport 3 in Catalonia). The opposition are Montpellier Herault SC of France and the venue is the Estadi Johan Cruyff, where all 6,000 seats were already sold out two weeks ago.

The stadium also hosted the event last year, which also doubles as the official presentation of the squad to the fans, when the men and women played back-to-back matches against Juventus.

The gates to the stadium will open at 6.30pm local time, and there will be a wide range of pre-game activities in and outside the ground for young and old, including face painting and tattooing, and the chance to have your picture taken with the trophy sponsored by Estrella Damm, as well as the MVP prize.

The official presentation is at 7.15pm, with the players and staff being introduced one by one by the announcer and a DJ. Coach Jonatan Giráldez and captain Alexia Putellas will then say a few words before the players return to the dressing room to get ready for the 8pm kick-off.

Getting to the Johan Cruyff

The club advises supporters coming to the game to do so in good time, at least an hour in advance, both to avoid overcrowding and to be sure of catching the official presentation 45 minutes before the start.

There are train, bus and tram services to Sant Joan Despí, and fans are advised to take these public transport options rather than using private vehicles. There is parking available, but only in limited numbers. Full information on getting to the stadium can be found here.

The game against Montpellier is the second-to-last before official competition starts. On August 27, the team will play UDG Tenerife in the Teide Trophy, and the league season starts on the weekend of September 10/11 away to the newly promoted Levante Las Planas.
