Josep Ignasi Macià attends dinner prior to Frankfurt v Barça

Yesterday evening saw a dinner organised by Penya Azulgrana Frankfurt/Rhein Main in honour of the big match this evening, the Europe League quarterfinal between Eintrach Frankfurt and FC Barcelona.

Around 50 people attended a restaurant in the city as a pre-match warm-up. FC Barcelona Board of Directors member, Josep Ignasi Macià, took the opportunity to interact with fans from the different European penyas during the meal. Along with the host penya, there were also representatives from different penyas from Stuttgart (Germany), London (United Kingdom), Fanatiek (Belgium), and La Máquina Blaugrana (Holland).

Presidente of the Penya Azulgrana Frankfurt/Rhein Main, Jesús Muñoz, gave the opening speech pre-meal, with Josep Ignasi Macià concluding the speeches by emphasising the importance of penyas to FC Barcelona. Macià reminded that the Club wants to have a direct relationship with their penyas, so the aim on every trip is to have such a get together like last night to hear the thoughts of FC Barcelona's penya members.

Over 1,000 penya members to attend the match

The stands at the Deutsche Bank Park, Eintracht Frankfurt's stadium, will be decorated in blaugrana thanks to the 59 penyas that will be there to support the team. They have more than 1,000 tickets for today's game, with penya members coming from countries such as Germany, Poland, Belgium, or as far away as Lebanon or Israel. The Frankfurt penya has also arranged a meet for Barça fans who want to attend the match together - from 2pm CEST in Römenberg square.
