Players from Barça Academy PRO New York and Miami meet Dest and Braithwaite
More than a hundred athletes from the Barça Academy of New York and Miami have enjoyed a week-long Barça Academy Clinic
More than a hundred athletes from the Barça Academy PRO run by FC Barcelona in the United States, in the cities of New York and Miami, have enjoyed a week-long Barça Academy Clinic on the club’s grounds. As well as different sporting activities, they also got to meet some of the Barça players in person, including their compatriot Sergiño Dest and Martin Braithwaite of Denmark, who went to the Ciutat Esportiva as the father of Satya and Romeo, who play at the Barça Escola Barcelona and in friendlies against teams from the US.
During a week of 100% Barça immersion, the young Americans aged 8 to 16 years have trained several times on the fields at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, took the Camp Nou Experience and skated on the Ice Rink, as well as having dinner in Sala Roma. The girls in the group also got to watch some of the women’s team at training. The final surprise came on their final day, as the Barça first team were in the same hotel as them in the build-up to their game with Athletic Club, and several of the youngsters were able to take autographs and photos home as mementos.
Barça Academy PRO are soccer academies owned by FC Barcelona is particularly strategic locations, such as the United States (New York and Miami) and China (Haikou). FC Barcelona has a total of 35 Barça Academy projects around the world, the USA being the country with most, 11. Next on the list are Japan with five and India with four.
