Saturday, February 26 was the date chosen for the Penya Barcelonista Alcoiana to celebrate their anniversary. The supporters' club from Alicante were celebrating their 35th anniversary, albeit a year later than expected due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions preventing the supporters from celebrating such an awaited event.
As Barça B were playing against the local side, representatives from FC Barcelona took the opportunity to attend the Alcoiana FC Barcelona Supporters' Club anniversary party. Jordi Casals, Barça B president, Víctor García, Barça B Sports Commission member and Ferran Beltran, FC Barcelona Social Commission member were all welcomed by the supporters' club president, Juan Ramón Juan, along with the Alicante Supporters' Club Federation president, Paco Baile.
Over 80 supporters' club members enjoyed a fantastic meal, which was also attended by the mayor of Alcoy and the president of the Alcoiano Sports Club, enabling further ties to be forged between the two sporting institutions that played each other that afternoon.
The meal of course culminated with the traditional cutting of the cake and the exchange of gifts between the institutions, again highlighting the importance of entities like the Alcoiana FC Barcelona Supporters' Club, who have been conveying values and warmth to FC Barcelona for many years.
