It was all about keeping the faith. Barça B came back from 2-0 down thanks to Ferran Jutglà's goalscoring ability, ending up drawing the game 2-2. Barça's possession finally paid dividends with goals in a frenetic last fifteen minutes but with the winning goal proving elusive. As such, a draw in the first game of the return fixtures in the Liga.
Ball domination not enough
A contrasting start. The Nou Estadi de Palamós saw the home side looking dangerous and the visitors monopolising possession. Sergi Barjuan's team were attempting to find space around the home side's low block, who in turn were looking to counter and make the most of dead ball situations. Carevic saved two situations from corners, but he couldn't do anything about Cala's goal after a throw-in. That set the tone for the rest of the half, with home side having most of the chances, going in 1-0 at the break.
Barça reacted once it was 2-0...
UE Costa Brava doubled their lead after the break through Galindo, again from a dead ball situation. This 2-0 seemed to wake Barça up, however, with Mika Mármol and Ilias Akhomach testing Marcos' reflexes. The reaction bore fruit when Jutglà shot from inside the area to halve the deficit on 77 minutes.
... and tied the game through Jutglà's quality
Still with time to complete the comeback, opportunities were coming thick and fast, but it again took Ferran Jutglà to make the difference. His quality volley evened up the score at the death to avoid defeat in the first game of the return matches in the Liga. This point keeps Barça B in ninth place in the Primera RFEF Footters. Next up is Barça B v Real Madrid Castilla on Saturday January 29.
